GATCPAC Floor Lamp

Josep Torres Clavé / Santa&Cole - 1931

The GATCPAC floor lamp was designed by the architect Josep Torres Clavé in 1931 together with other founding members of the group that gives the piece its name, which sought to modernize Catalan architecture following the trends of the European avant-garde.

It is a functionalist lamp. The aluminum structure is made up of a flat circular base, a stylized cylindrical tube and a large bell-shaped lampshade joined by a joint that allows its orientation.

This particular piece is one of the prototypes that the publisher Santa&Cole worked on during the reissue process of the GATCPAC model in the early 1990s.
