Antoni de Moragas i Gallissà
Antoni de Moragas i Gallissà (Barcelona, 1913-1985) was committed to the idea of developing architecture and design at the service of people. Throughout his career he had a deep humanist concern that, together with his technical training, led him to promote and participate in numerous social initiatives aimed at the democratization of housing and public spaces.
Founding member of Grup R together with José Antonio Coderch and Oriol Bohigas, among others, his work as a designer during the fifties and sixties was exemplary for a whole generation. In his designs he tried to apply rationalist postulates and implement a more industrialized production at a time of evident duality between modernity and tradition.
