Poul Henningsen
The Danish Poul Henningsen (1894-1967) became known as an industrial designer from the first and iconic “PH” lamp, whose prototype was presented for the first time at the 1925 Paris Decorative Arts Exhibition.
Architect, writer and journalist, his obsession and passion for light led him to investigate and develop innovative functional designs that are adaptable to all types of spaces and achieve soft, indirect lighting.
His career ran parallel to the Danish firm Louis Poulsen, for which he created more than a hundred different lamp models based on the three-shade system of the first “PH”.
