Joan Antoni Blanc
Joan Antoni Blanc (Tortosa, 1940) is considered one of the pioneers of the industrial development of the product in Spain. Their designs are characterized by functionality, versatility and serial production, without forgetting the social content of design.
In 1971 he founded Estudi Blanc together with Pau Joan Vidal, from which they projected numerous designs for the main Spanish furniture and lighting publishers.
Collaborating with institutions for the promotion and dissemination of design such as the FAD or the BCD, he has also been very active in teaching, participating as a teacher at the Elisava school and as a founder at the Eina school, where he was one of the main defenders of the need to incorporate technological knowledge and guide design in industrial applications.
Some of his designs were awarded with the ADI/FAD Delta Awards in 1965, 1966, 1968 and 1991.
