Catalan Popular Chair

C. 1940

The popular Catalan chair or six-legged chair is a variant of the popular wicker chair, the use of which was extended at the beginning of the 20th century to the second homes of the Catalan bourgeoisie.

It stands out for its six legs and for a lower and more inclined seat and a high and wide backrest with three crossbars, also slightly inclined, which is reinforced by the rear legs. The structure is made of brown-stained riparian tree and the seat is made of braided reed.

A markedly Mediterranean chair, ideal as a resting chair since it allows you to recline without forcing the structure.
