201 Manila Cane Coat Rack
Joaquim Belsa Aldea / Aresta - 1962
The "201" model coat rack, made of curved and varnished manila cane and designed in 1965, was one of Aresta's first designs and is part of the original series of which very few copies were produced due to its high cost and the production difficulties. In 1964, it was manufactured with an aluminum tube lined with burlap fabric, although the organic forms achieved with the work of manila cane were maintained in the initial design.
Its continuous lines exemplify the way of working that characterized Belsa during the 1960s and 1970s, based on the idea of a single line.
