Pair of Upholstered Tubular Lounge Chairs
Reig - c. 1930
Pair of armchairs designed and produced by the Catalan firm Reig in the 1930s.
They are an example of the transition between the Art Deco style and the emerging rationalist language of modern furniture. Their design stands out for structural clarity and restrained elegance: a low silhouette, generous volumes, and continuous lines that convey balance and visual lightness.
The most characteristic element is their chromed metal tube structure, which forms a cantilever base. This feature not only provides an innovative aesthetic for the time but also introduces slight flexibility in the seat, enhancing comfort. The armrests incorporate wood, creating a warm contrast.
| Dimensions: Height: 80 cm, seat height: 38 cm, width: 61 cm, depth: 77 cm |
