Capilla Fireplace
José Antonio Coderch / Polinax - 1952
The Capilla fireplace designed in 1952 was conceived to provide a solution for small spaces, although it adapts perfectly to larger spaces.
Inspired by the old English masonry fireplaces, it arose from the collaboration between José Antonio Coderch and Leopoldo Milá, resulting in an iconic and still very current design.
A sculptural and representative piece of Coderch's work: unique, three-dimensional as well as “transparent” and with a strong presence in space.
This particular piece is part of the original Polinax production, made entirely of sheet metal.
Delta de Oro ADI / FAD 1964 Award.
