Thonet - c. 1870

Thonet bench, a prominent example of Viennese Art Nouveau. Michael Thonet invented his own technique that allowed wood to be bent in a unique way, giving it great plasticity and lightness, as can be seen in this pierced backrest, along with the armrests shaped like volutes and the slight curve of the legs.

Condition: Good overall condition, beautiful patina on the whole. Previous restoration.
