Dax Chair
Charles & Ray Eames / Herman Miller - 1950
Office chair designed by Charles and Ray Eames for Herman Miller in the 1950s.
The goal in designing this part was to create a molded one-piece seat shell that conforms to the contours of the human body. To do this, they decided to opt for a then-alternative material: polyester resin reinforced with fiberglass. The base is metal.
