Capilla Fireplace
José Antonio Coderch / Polinax - 1952
The Capilla fireplace designed in 1952 was conceived to provide a solution for small spaces, although it adapts perfectly to larger spaces.
Inspired by old English fireplaces, it emerged from the collaboration between José Antonio Coderch and Leopoldo Milá, resulting in an iconic and still very current design.
A sculptural and representative piece of Coderch's work: singular, three-dimensional as well as “transparent” and with a strong presence in space.
This specimen is part of the original Polinax production, produced entirely in sheet metal.
Delta de Oro ADI/FAD Award 1964.
