Reno DiningTable

Federico Correa & Alfonso Milá / Gres - 1961

Designed in 1961 by Federico Correa and Alfonso Milá for the firm Gres, the Reno dining table model was originally conceived for the restaurant of the same name, located on the iconic Tuset street in Barcelona, the heart of the city’s cultural and architectural modernity in the sixties.

Made of ukola wood, this piece reflects the authors’ intention to rethink traditional luxury furniture types from a contemporary perspective, combining bold proportions, formal refinement, and a carefully crafted sculptural presence.

The pair of Catalan architects and designers Federico Correa and Alfonso Milá were prominent figures of the Modern Movement. Correa and Milá followed the principle that interior design and industrial design were parts of the same architectural project. Collaborators of José Antonio Coderch, they founded their own studio in 1953. They designed summer houses in Cadaqués, interiors for the legendary FlashFlash and Il Giardinetto restaurants, and unique and iconic design pieces to furnish their own works and for furniture companies such as Gres.
